Burroughs mentions the death of R.H. Barlow in “The Yagé Letters”, including details of how (goof balls/Seconal), why (alleged homosexual blackmail or breakup), that it was a suicide, that vomit was everywhere. That indicates that Burroughs was at the death scene, and fired off a letter immediately to Ginsberg describing the events. “I don’t get this suicide kick” was the line Burroughs added to the event. Anyone who had read Burroughs would note that he mentions auto-erotic asphyxiation/suicide repeatedly in Cities of the Red Night and other works. Choking and strangling associated with sex was a frequent motif of his. Burroughs had been attending Barlow’s classes and at least one field trip.

R.H. Barlow had been the executor of H.P. Lovecraft’s estate and unpublished works. After Barlow’s death this went to Donald Wanderei and L. Sprague de Camp (who had an early close association with L. Ron Hubbard ). Barlow was an acknowledged expert in Meso-American heiroglyphs and Nahuatl Languages. He taught related subjects at Mexico City College.

Burroughs was an early visitor to Saint Hill for Dianetic auditing, and utilized Scientology language and routines in his writings.

I happened to check out his son’s life. Very tragic all the way through. In his, the son’s, abandonment and upbringing by bad people I saw a parallel with Obama. It appears William Jr. may have been molested by Ginsburg. Junior died at 33 from sclerosis of the liver. It is hard to comprehend the lives these families live.
