After watching, I think Garcia (sorry Jan, always with the Garcia) and Cobain could have been the charismatic innocents. How did the poor white boy Cobain, wind up in that crowd? Seems to me like the big families and their little prince(sses) lure the real (raw) talent in. Wasn’t Hendrix poor? The kids use their “allowances” and free time to look out for organic talent, programs them, drugs them up, then the “natural leader” (who is really the puppet) – lures the big crowds in. Mick Jagger is an anomaly. Usually the charismatic one has the blood sucked out of him by the little princes.

Sub pop, the record label that spawned the whole movement has this guy (now dead) as a “poet” on its catalog : Steven Bernstein, closely related to Burroughs….ding ding ding. The guy was sent to Camarillo mental state hospital as a teen, a very nice institution where people were dosed, lobotomized and electroshocked…hello Dr Cameron !
