I do think the Morrisons were connected secret societally, he says in one of his books that he is a descendant of “Mystery Christians.” I don’t think they were from the same sort of background as this “German Death Cult” thing though.
One of the books I’ve read on him said he did reports in high school referencing 14th century books on demonology. His teacher was in DC on a field trip that summer and stopped by the Library of Congress to see if those books were real. They were. lol
But there’s also references to Jim voraciously reading all he can find on sadomasochism and all that. I think he was trying to get up to speed. Just my impression. In one book he references the desert and the “cold men who play there.”
The main reason I’m writing is that I think you’re misinterpreting his art. He was Aristotelian. The object of his work was to induce catharsis, as Aristotle discusses in The Poetics. This was the function of Greek “Tragic” Drama. It confronts people with the truths they don’t want to face. THE END isn’t about eschatology, it’s about letting go of your false hopes and delusions. Jim’s work was functioning to set people FREE, to bring about catharsis of neurotic energy and rid people of their rationalizations.
If you can connect Jim to Theodor Adorno and his concept of “Dionysian Music,” then you’ll really have something. Ok, I’m gonna listen to the rest of the show now. Thanks!
Btw, The DOORS comes from William Blake, originally.
I view Jim as being heavily influenced by Burroughs and Adorno. Then stylistically also Rimbaud and Blake. (Then there’s Nietzsche, Aristotle, Wilhelm Reich, etc.)
The whole thing about “The Movie” comes from Burroughs, iirc.
Btw, the “Roman Wilderness of Pain” is a Dante reference. He finds himself in a “Wilderness” as he reaches the gates of Hell. Wilderness was also the name of one of Jim’s books of poems, iirc. Get it? (Dante being Italian, or as a poet would say, Roman.)
Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
And “the snake” is a Kundalini reference, 7 miles=chakras. Jim’s imagery is very heavy with esoteric references.
Jan’s material on Wasson has been invaluable; truly enlightening and deeply de/re-constructive. The single fact that RGW managed the Papal account(s) is by far the most incriminating element in his lurid imposture, and sufficient from its infamous implications alone, to entirely discredit his specious exclusivity, displayed by his grandiose moral posturing.
Wasson has been exposed by Jan as a disreputable and sophisticated con-artist, a sophist elitist, ambitious self-serving careerist snob and mendacious insider; and the further “inside” one travels in his sinister and highly structured clerical hell of inquisition, organized crime, misogyny, child abuse and mystical fraud, the uglier and more diabolist it gets. If you want black occultism in trumps, look no further than the Vatican and its precious CIA. Dante had the right ideas methinks.
Sooner or later we always get back to that irascible problem of “Jesus” that has been so cynically exploited by latter-day zionists, American fascists and a host of imbecile pedants. It was very sad to hear of the tragic illness and loss of DM Murdock, Acharya S. She was a tireless seeker of truth, and deserves ample recognition from us for her substantial extant work on the convoluted problems of “origins.” Fortunately, Robert carrier seems to be making some headway, but frankly I think we are unlikely to ever arrive at a satisfactory, fully comprehensive explanation. It rather depends on one’s perspective on time and how we interpret the present.
I should like to hear more from Joe on the very interesting investigations and theories of the Italian linguist and philologist Francesco Carotta whose film about the parallelisms between the funeral rites of Julius Caesar and the alleged “passion” are extremely suggestive and thought provoking. There is one sequence for example shot in Portugal that shows a white-hooded sect of fanatical devotees enacting their graphic ceremonies in a style that is astonishingly identical to the grotesqueries of the KKK ~ a salient link that should not be ignored.
Re “Agent 666” ~ this is a highly speculative and conjectural populist work, not a serious forensic contribution to esoteric scholarship or British intelligence studies. There are far better examples focused on A.C. now extant. After the totally maligned and suppressed work of Marcelo Ramos Motta, arguably the best would be Marco Pasi’s (A.C. &) the Temptation of Politics. Tobias Churton has also published two substantial works recently. that are more subjective and florid, but nonetheless worth consulting.
We might be advised to recall that Crowley did not invent “Bohemianism.” In his youth he was very much a reactionary individualist who thrived in a milieu of fin de siecle Romantic exoticism. Unfortunately, Joe’ s reading of Thelemic doctrine is highly misleading and not based on any legitimate scholarly appraisal of the facts, facts that need to be consulted with reference to original documents and provenanced texts, not the facile pulp fiction & expurgated sophistry peddled by unscrupulous plagiarists and blatantly piratical, publishing outfits. Authentic context, due diligence and literate precision are essential.
The same is true for Steiner with whom I disagree about many things, but at least respect the fact that a proper treatment of his contribution entails acknowledgement of something like 72, 000 pages of extant textual material, much of which constitutes transcripts of his lectures by eager students. Steiner may have been wrong on several fronts, but he was anything but degenerate. Also I should like to see the solid evidence that he directed Stoll’s purported work on ergot. Rudolph Steiner died in 1925ce and he was not an advocate of sacramental drug use, let alone recreational experimentation or technical magick.
The CIA was a post-Crowley “Batesian” type phenomenon that prospered under cold-war conditions. British intelligence already had a long history dating back to the Elizabethan C16th and the Eurocentric politics of reformation and subsequent Jesuitical inflitration of the Free-masonic/”Rosicrucian” traditions that some allege were derived from Levantine Templar influences. So the “occult revival” was not invented by Crowley. It is a current that can be traced all the way back to the Dionysian Artificers and beyond.
I agree with Jan about the abuse of mysticism by potentates and imposters, but the root of that problem is to be sought in the spurious fantasies of “christendom” itself, and the earlier abuses & pretensions of empire; not in the deep cognitive and experiential truths of occult science that are as ancient as humanity itself.
ps I suppose I should have more properly written “Batesonian” and I apologize for the lower case c to Dr Carrier whose first name is Richard, not Robert…Robert Carrier was a New York born food writer who gained celebrity as a TV chef in the UK after the war who, interestingly, served with the OSS in ‘forties Britain.
Radical Mycology looks very promising. I meant to ask Jan whether Peter McCoy is possibly related to Alfred W. McCoy who is still producing so much valuable analysis on the secret politics of the drugs trade, that along with the research of Peter Dale Scott and others reveals mind boggling collusion at the highest level of establishment dominance. A series on the Knights of Malta might be worth considering….and its links to the Russian orthodox mafia.
Although I find Paul Stamets’ presentations and self-promotion slightly daunting, I cannot diminish the importance and relevance of his research endeavours to planetary health. Despite his many lucrative patents and cooperation with elements of big-pharma, he claims to refuse to have anything to do with Monsanto for example….
As for “riding the snake” – wouldn’t that have something to do with the Uroboros? That symbol goes back to Egypt – considering all the Egyptian “magick” these occult groups are involved with, I’d think this would be obvious.
This looks pretty interesting

Thanks for sharing your amazing research and insights, Mr. Irvin and Mr. Atwill:) I’m currently watching the “Janis:Little Girl Blue” (2015) documentary on Ms. Janis Joplin’s life [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3707114/], and not only did she take a big sip out of a bottle containing 68 ‘hits’ of acid before watching Mr. Otis Redding perform live, she also writes, in a letter to her mum (28min and 35sec into the documentary), that she was approached by a man from the Elektra label (after a performance) recruiting her and the band by stating that, “Rothschild feels that popular music can’t continue and get farther and farther out and more chaotic.”, and she continues the letter by writing, “He feels that there’s gonna be a reaction, an old fashion music blues shuffle melodic stuff is gonna come back in. Well, Elektra wants the group to form this way and they want me. Wish I could ask someone for advice that I knew wasn’t biased for any reason, ah, dream on, Janis.” In fear of procrastination I just posted this info here asap (hence, I haven’t finished watching it yet), as I thought you both and the audience might find it interesting, although you’re probably well aware of this too (and perhaps a Janis edition of this brilliant CCN UnSpun series is already being planned, wtfdik), but I felt I had to bring this little piece of the CIA Hippie puzzle to the best truth-puzzlers, so that we may all enjoy the big [MK-Ultra] picture of truth some happy day:) Stay Real & Keep’em Coming, For Real:) Happy Days!
Update/’spoiler’: Luckily Ms. Joplin didn’t sign with Elektra, but ironically joined the band Big Brother instead, lol, in case someone was wondering, but not enough to watch the documentary:) Happy Days!
Update 2: I should’ve watched the entire documentary before commenting, especially when one cannot edit, nor delete, previous post(s) on GnosticMedia (at least to my current knowledge), because Ms Joplin actually did sign with Mr. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_A._Rothchild towards the/her end/death, but I still don’t know if he’s associated with the Rothchild Family, hence forgive my trigger-happiness, but it was either that or forgetfulness, I feared:) Happy Days!
